My practice focuses on contentious matters, principally on international dispute settlement with a particular focus on high value cross-jurisdictional construction and infrastructure disputes. I am dual qualified in civil law and common law and admitted at the bar of the state of New York and a member of the Swedish Bar Association.
I hold an LL.M from New York University, in addition to my Swedish law degree from Uppsala University, having specialized in international commercial arbitration, international investment law, and investor-state arbitration. I also have a background in economics having, studied at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado.
I have extensive experience advising leading Swedish companies and multinationals on all aspects of international and domestic commercial arbitration and litigation in numerous complex and large-scale disputes across jurisdictions, areas of law, and industries, including construction and infrastructure, energy, IT and telecoms, manufacturing, real estate, and insurance. I have represented clients at all levels of the Swedish judicial system as well as international and Swedish arbitral tribunals under different arbitral rules. I also advise clients on the recognition, enforcement and setting aside of arbitral awards. Further to my counsel work, I have acted as administrative secretary for arbitral tribunals.
My particular expertise is in infrastructure and construction disputes, having acted as counsel for employers and contractors on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects in a number of arbitration and litigation proceedings. I am well-versed in the Nordic standard contracts for the construction market as well as their internationally recognized counterparts, such as the various FIDIC contracts.
While my focus has been on dispute resolution, I have considerable experience advising companies and state-owned entities in respect of non-contentious major construction and infrastructure projects and assisted such clients on all phases of projects. This experience has proven advantageous in contentious matters.
Prior to private practice I served a junior judge and law clerk at a Stockholm district court. I have a background in tax M&A and tax structuring with a big four accounting firm, which later has served me well, having litigated several high value tax related disputes before Swedish courts.
I am an active participant in the arbitration community and a member of several domestic and internationally recognized associations in the arbitration and litigation space.
I am fluent in English and Swedish and have basic proficiency in Norwegian and Danish.
